  • Can I run an errand during my free block at ARROW?
This is something that must be cleared with a Coordinator(s) and must not be a recurring behavior. We understand that situations arise and we operate in Grace. 2 Thessalonians 3:10
  • Is ARROW an umbrella school?
No. But we can help you find one that is local. ARROW is not responsible for your attendance or your grades. That is the responsibility you chose when you decided to homeschool. You must secure an Umbrella School that aligns with the standards of the State of Tennessee for graduation of your student. It is required that you file attendance of 180 days and follow the grade scale that is accepted by the state. You will typically file grades and attendance 2 times a year. See the Homeschool Cheat Sheet document on our website for more guidance. Romans 13
  • What if I have a disagreement with another person in the group?
It is understandable that we won’t always agree. It is our mission to live peaceably with all, as far as we are able to. **Romans 12:18 We ask that you follow the Bible as your correction towards your brother or sister: Go to them in private, in truth and love-no accusing tone. James 4:1-7 Go to them again with a friend. Matthew 18:16 Go with your brother to a Coordinator. Matthew 18: 17 Abide peaceably by the decisions of ARROW Coordinators and Pastoral leadership.
  • Do all parents have to teach?
It is understandable that some do not feel confident to lead a class as an instructor. At ARROW we recognize this, but it still requires everyone to participate to share the responsibilities of the day. We ask that each parent fill the lead role in some capacity for at least 2 blocks and assist in at least one block. This lead could be fulfilled in the Nursery, in our lower grades, as a P.E. or exploratory hour, as an organizer of our Park Days, Fieldtrip Planner, Special Lunch Days, Hallway Monitor, Clean-up Organizer, Set-up/Tear down, etc….there is always a place for leadership! Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
  • What if my child continually misbehaves and is escorted out of the classroom setting?
We trust you to discipline your child and help them learn boundaries and self-control. We will help you if needed. If your child is unmotivated towards the program, ARROW may not be the best place for them. We understand that life is about seasons and we respect that without judgment. It is our goal to love you through any season you may be found in. Galatians 5:22-25; Ecclesiastes 3:1; Matthew 18:15
  • Do we have to abide by the curriculum chosen by ARROW?
ARROW chooses curriculum to be presented each week that is affordable and easily adapted to all ages and abilities. We do understand that some families have curriculum paths that are preferable and suited for your work week. If your family chooses to observe ARROW as strictly cooperative, there must be an agreement that your student takes the class time seriously and treats class time with respect for those that do rely on the class time for their weekly instruction. In this case, your learner would be required to participate in some way, to learn the accountability of and responsibility of a job well done by turning in a minimal assignment in their turn in folder. This arrangement must be fully communicated with the lead instructor in order to establish expectations. This program is designed to fulfill every academic need for a successful homeschool year. If your learner becomes a distraction in the classroom because they no longer value the instruction, your family should consider an alternative learning group. Joshua 24:15
  • Is there any exception to your Statement of Faith?
No. Let your “Yes,” be Yes, and your “No,” be No. Matthew 5:37; Isaiah 50:7; Matthew 25:23
  • Are there plans for ARROW to offer more than one day a week?
There is a vision for ARROW to offer more days of instruction a week. There is hope to become a hybrid school that would employ certified teachers for a 2-5 day a week drop-off school, that would allow families to work full time and trust in knowing their children are being trained in The Way. The vision is large. We wait on the Lord for his timing and provision. Psalm 31:15; Isaiah 40:31; Habakkuk 2:3; 2 Peter 3:9
  • Why do you charge a registration fee if all the parents are the teachers?
We charge a minimal family fee to bless our church host. We also charge a minimal fee to provide the website upkeep and to maintain our safety by providing background checks and our grading system. Unfortunately, it takes money to operate in excellence. If it becomes too expensive we will remove certain costs and operate in a much more streamlined manner. We are all “paid” for our time and efforts by the reward of sharing the instructional load and with the friendships we grow for years to come.
  • Are parents required to stay all day?
Yes. This is not your typical cooperative/ tutorial. We work together to educate and train our children. By parents being on campus, you are able to interact with other parents and their students to truly know the families your child is growing alongside. The goal of ARROW is to share in the teaching and training of our children, much like a small home church and as is instructed in Deuteronomy 11:19-21.
  • Am I required to take the grade provided by the grade system and assignments of ARROW instructors?
Please remember that when we homeschool, the Parent is the TEACHER. The instructors at ARROW act more as a GUIDE. If you feel you need to modify the weekly assignments in order to maintain the maximum growth from that instruction, you should do so. Out of respect for your fellow leader, please communicate the situation and help establish the correct expectation. The grade given is simply a suggestion. Ultimately, you are responsible for filing your grades with the State and your chosen Umbrella School. Proverbs 22:6; Isaiah 54:13
  • Why is the cost so low?
We believe that you can have quality instruction with minimal cost when we share the load of instruction. In the homeschool model, the parent is the teacher. ARROW simply provides a general location to gather and instruct our children with other families to provide encouragement and to share the burden that is sometimes felt when you are isolated. The goal of ARROW is to gather together to encourage one another and to walk our Christian Faith together. Hebrews 10:25
  • Why are your policies so strict?
At ARROW, we take our Faith seriously. We want to align ourselves with other families that also wish to fully equip and train their children to dedicate their lives to the call of Christ without wavering. We don’t expect perfection but we expect to show our youth the way to the cross and help them get there. Psalm 127:4; Colossian 3:23; Matthew 7:13
  • What curriculum do you use?
Every year we will evaluate the curriculum we choose to ensure that we find Instruction that aligns with our Statement of Faith while also preparing our youth to be excellent in season and out. Our goal is to raise modern day Daniels, all the while, believing that we are each fearfully and wonderfully made specifically, for such a time as this. Daniel 6:3; Psalm 139:14; Esther 4:14
